Lutheran Community Services Northwest Strategic Plan 2016-2018
By David Duea, President and CEO
We’ve created a vision of growth for Lutheran Community Services Northwest. Our 2016-2018 Strategic Plan focuses on helping more people in need throughout Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
As we grow, our challenge will be to bring the same level of passion and compassion to our work. Right now, we serve more than 42,000 people in the Pacific Northwest. Our plan is to work with more than 63,000 people by the end of 2018, a 50 percent increase. We will partner with children, parents, individuals, immigrants, refugees, seniors, families, churches and numerous organizations to help families and communities flourish.
The plan was a collaborative effort. I traveled all over the Northwest to gather input from our major areas. At nearly every meeting, we heard common themes and ideas that we incorporated into the plan. An example is the need for affordable housing. It’s important that we work collaboratively to solve this and other pressing issues.
As our strategic plan unfolds, we will deal with variables that we can’t control. Two big variables are changing political and economic environments. Regardless of conditions, LCS Northwest will respond with the same level of compassion to build community. Together we can choose to shut out the noise and serve ALL God’s children with acts of service and love.
I will keep you informed on our progress and how we’re growing as an agency. Thank you for being a partner in our calling and our mission.
May you and your family be blessed with Health, Justice and Hope.
