"It's always great to combine a special time in your life with a great cause," says Jessie Mohandessi.

The special time for Jessie is launching a career as a Realtor in #vancouverwa. The great cause is LCSNW's #refugeeresettlement work. She's holding a fundraising raffle Friday. Why not stop by her office at 212 E. Evergreen Blvd from 5:30 to 7pm for a happy hour and to meet a new business owner?

Finding a way to #welcomerefugees is personal for Jessie. Her husband's family fled religious persecution during the Iranian revolution of 1979. "They were very fortunate in that they had some resources to prepare to leave and restart, but many of their friends and family did not."

Exciting things happening to #welcomerefugees in Oregon's capital city. We're honored that our team can provide a bit of support. #HealthJusticeHopeWe had the distinct pleasure of hosting Salah Ansary and Jennica Stephenson for a drop-in visit yesterday. Salah is the regional director of Lutheran Community Services Northwest and is a leader with decades of experience in refugee resettlement. Originally from Afghanistan, he is an inspiration to our team and encourages us through his years of service to those fleeing war, persecution and violence. It is so great to be part of a state with resettlement agencies that collaborate together with a unified vision.
