Our team can support you in making informed decisions regarding medical care to trauma. Under Washington law, survivors of sexual assault have the right to have an advocate or support person present during medical and legal proceedings.

We offer information and support throughout both civil and criminal systems. Our services include assistance with protection orders and coordination between law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office. Futhermore, we provide in-person support throughout various processes, including detective interviews, defence interviews, trials, and sentencing hearings.

In Washington State, child victims or witnesses have the following rights:

• To receive an age-appropriate explanation of processes
• To receive a written statement of the rights of child crime victims
• To have an advocate or support person present
• To have a secure waiting area during court proceedings
• To have personal information protected from uninvolved outside parties
• To have an advocate make recommendations on the minor’s behalf
• To receive referrals to community resources

We offer psycho-educational support groups that serve as effective tools for fostering hope and providing support, validation, connection, healing, and empathy. At the core of sexual assault trauma is disempowerment and disconnection. Our groups can assist in crucial recovery factors, including empowerment and connection. We provide training for professionals, organizations, and groups interested in learning more about our services and the effects of trauma. Please reach out to us for more information or to request a training session.

Later in life and vulnerable individuals have the right to feel safe. Abuse can include intentional or unintentional acts that cause physical, emotional, mental, sexual and/or financial harm or fear. It can happen to anyone. Our Washington State Certified Victim Advocates provide free and confidential advocacy services to victims, survivors, loved ones and witnesses of traumatic events. As Community Based Victim Advocates, we empower victims, and we have privileged communication with survivors as outlined by RCW 5.60.060(7)(b).

In partnership with LCSNW’s Advocacy and Clinical programs, this is a free and inclusive youth-led group. The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) aims to create a safer and healthier community for youth in Spokane. The YAB is open to any Spokane County teen ages 13-18 years old.

The Youth Advisory Board’s mission is to give teens a voice within mental health services and encourage them to be mental health advocates in their communities. By learning and sharing tools, teens become part of the movement to reduce stigma and amplify teen voices surrounding mental health. The YAB strives to increase awareness about how mental health impacts teens, healthy coping skills, and how to offer support to others who may be struggling. These goals are accomplished, in part, by meeting with local groups to advocate for and normalize conversations about mental health.

We need dedicated Crisis Response Advocate (CRA) volunteers!

Volunteers play a vital role in the success of our advocacy programs, making it possible to staff our Sexual Assault Crisis Line 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Crisis Response Advocates provide phone assistance and accompany victims of sexual assault and other crimes during exams at Spokane-area hospitals. They also offer crisis intervention, support, referrals, and information to survivors of sexual assault and other crimes, along with their families and loved ones.
