Our Santa for Seniors program brings meaningful gifts, spreads joy, and provides additional resources to isolated seniors year round. We partner with local organizations to provide comforting gifts and opportunities for connection throughout the year. We foster awareness and intergenerational connection with our Time to Talk project and through our card and ornament decorating activities. Elementary schools, various clubs, and youth groups regularly join us in gift drives, gift assemblies, and other local events.

Through our case management services, we help individuals connect with community resources that support their overall health and well-being. Our dedicated case managers serve as trusted guides, working closely with clients to navigate systems of care, address their social determinants of health and health-related social needs, and overcome barriers to achieving stability. This includes support with housing, food, transportation, behavioral health, and more. We assist clients in setting personalized goals and developing action plans, while providing ongoing support through regular check-ins. Services are available in multiple languages to ensure everyone can access the help they deserve.

We offer engaging activities for individuals living with dementia, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurocognitive conditions, along with support for their care partners, families, and loved ones. Activities include Memory Cafés, Memory Walks, Music and Memories, and Opening Minds through Art (OMA). Our programs are available to people of all ages.

We provide culturally responsive services that support refugee elders in building community, accessing resources, and maintaining independence. We provide classes that help individuals build language skills and prepare for U.S. citizenship.

Eligibility: 60+ yrs, Refugee, Asylee, Cuban-Haitian entrant, Amerasian, Victim of Trafficking, Iraqi/Afghan SIV, Humanitarian Parolee (may have a Green Card) living in King County, WA.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides meaningful volunteer opportunities for adults 55 and older that match your skills, interests, and schedule. Opportunities include mentoring and tutoring, sharing life experiences and history, supporting nutrition programs, volunteering at nonprofit thrift stores and medical or office facilities, assisting with art and music classes, and more.

The Senior Friends program matches adult volunteers with lonely and socially isolated elders, age 65 and older, in communities throughout Pierce County. Matches are made based on common interests, location and time availability. Senior Friends can connect in person or via virtual visits.

Volunteers must commit a minimum 4 hours per month for at least a year. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, submit an application, pass a background check, provide three references, and complete a training session.

Our Senior Companion Program (SCP) connects caring volunteers age 55 and older with older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout Pierce and Kitsap Counties. Through regular visits and meaningful companionship, volunteers build lasting friendships that help reduce isolation, support well-being, and help individuals remain independent in their own homes.

Our Community Resource Centers (CRCs) provide welcoming, supportive spaces where individuals and families can find help during times of instability or crisis. We operate four CRCs across greater Puget Sound in SeaTac, Everett, Port Angeles, and Bremerton.

Our caring, community-centered staff provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive support, helping people meet basic needs, navigate challenges, and connect with resources that can help them move forward.

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a respite care benefit for Navy and the Department of Air Force families who have children with special needs and are enrolled in services with their Exceptional Family Member Program. The program provides temporary relief to parents who meet eligibility criteria so they can attend appointments, go shopping, or gather much-needed rest, without having to worry about the well-being of their children. Eligible members receive an authorized allotment of in-home respite care per family per month, at no cost.

Respite care providers receive competitive wages and training opportunities while enjoying flexible hours. Providers must have experience working with children, or in the Special Needs or Health Care fields; must possess or be willing to obtain relevant First Aid and CPR certification; and clear background screenings.

LCSNW partners with a community of caregivers to welcome and support refugee and immigrant youth through our Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM) program. Our youth clients are unable to return to their countries of origin and are without adults to care for them. Through placement in licensed foster care, group care, or through supported semi-independent living, they are connected to safe and stable homes, receive health coverage, legal and immigration support, and have a dedicated staff team who ensure they have the resources they need.

LCSNW operates a Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project that connects Kitsap County youth and young adults experiencing homelessness with youth-led and culturally specific outreach. Our goal is safe, stable housing paired with life skills, financial literacy, and employment support—empowering youth to build sustainable, independent futures.

Demonstration Project funds are designated for serving eligible youth age 24 and younger at the time of enrollment. Once enrolled, there are no age restrictions for continued support.

SAFE Network provides free medical and psychological evaluations to support asylum claims, coordinating over 100 professional clinical evaluators who provide free/ pro bono forensic evaluations.

The network supports training for new clinical evaluators and community partners, an education and supervision program for PhD candidates, and a research arm focused on asylee and refugee populations.

Asylum seekers who wish to be evaluated must have legal representation and a connection to the city of Seattle (such as living, working, going to school, or volunteering in the city).

Compass Housing Alliance, a Division of Lutheran Community Services Northwest, is a leading provider and developer of essential services and affordable housing for men, women, veterans, and families who are low-income or experiencing homelessness in the Puget Sound region. Compass Housing Alliance provides day services, emergency shelters, and affordable housing at 20 locations

We provide housing services including housing search, case management and program and resource referral services to eligible households.

We provide case management and rent assistance for households of humanitarian parolees and refugees in Washington state who are at immediate risk of homelessness and meet ORIA eligibility.

Services include housing navigation, benefits enrollment, health and mental health referrals, employment readiness, educational opportunities, and cultural orientation. By working closely with community partners and coordinating across multiple systems, we help families overcome barriers, achieve stability, and move toward long-term self-sufficiency.

Services for refugees and other immigrants are available, although greatly reduced following deep reductions in funding for resettlement and related services. Navigation assistance available for schools and health care, transportation for health appointments, employment support, ESL, and case management. Must meet eligibility.

Our Safe Route Immigration team provides accessible legal services to refugees and immigrants in Portland, Beaverton, McMinnville, and Salem, Oregon, along with Vancouver, Tacoma, SEA TAC and Seattle, Washington. We’re committed to growing alongside our clients and have expanded our services over the past four decades to include immigrant rights advocacy, community education, and legal guidance for clients on their journey to becoming fully-integrated members of American society.
