More than holiday gifts: a support team when it matters most

When Becky first heard about LCSNW’s Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe) program, she was hesitant.

As the grandmother and primary caregiver of three grandchildren with complex behavioral and developmental needs, Becky worried she would be judged. She feared entering a system that would monitor her family rather than support them. Today, she tells a very different story.

“I’ve got a really good support team here,” Becky says. “Ya’ll are my rock. I don’t think they realize how much they do.”

Weekly visits with her care team gave Becky a safe place to talk, ask questions, and feel supported. “I look forward to it,” she shares. “Having someone you can relate with and talk to who understands the kids has been a big help.”

That support continued during the holiday season through Holiday Lane, LCSNW’s annual client event that transforms the Kennewick office into a festive shopping experience for families in need. Rather than receiving pre-selected items, parents and caregivers can visit, browse, and choose gifts, coats, household essentials, and other items that best fit their family’s needs.

For Becky, that personal touch meant everything. She still smiles when talking about the excitement she and her granddaughters felt receiving their new winter coats. “They were so excited,” she recalls.

Holiday Lane served as a reminder to Becky that she wasn’t facing life’s challenges alone. There were the gifts, but more importantly, there was an entire support team standing by her side.

I’m so grateful,” she said. “Anybody who needs the program, please come. They will welcome you with open arms and love you all the way.”

Each holiday season, the generosity of local businesses, organizations, and community members makes these moments possible. Holiday Lane helpsfamilies across the Tri-Cities experience hope, dignity, and joy when they need it most.
