When LCSNW opened the doors to its new facility in Kennewick this summer, it marked an exciting chapter in serving youth and families facing mental and behavioral health challenges across the Tri-Cities.
Today, we’re grateful to share another important milestone: LCSNW has received a $400,000 New Facility Renovation grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust to support ongoing renovations and improvements to our new home at 7011 W. Canal Drive.
The Murdock grant is a significant investment in the future of youth mental health services in Benton and Franklin counties and will help ensure that children, teens, and families have access to the care they need for years to come.

Expanding Access to Behavioral Health Services
LCSNW’s relocation to the Kennewick office was completed in July 2026, bringing together programs that had previously operated across multiple aging locations. Today, youth and families can access a wide range of services under one roof in a welcoming, trauma-informed environment designed to support healing and connection.
Each year, LCSNW’s Tri-Cities team of more than 120 clinicians, care coordinators, peer counselors, and support staff provides mental and behavioral health services to youth ages 3 to 21. Programs include:
- Outpatient therapy
- Medication management
- Care coordination
- School-based services
- Mental Health First Aid training
- Crisis stabilization
The new facility is expected to increase LCSNW’s capacity to serve an additional 200 youth annually, while reducing wait times, improving care coordination, and strengthening outcomes for children and families throughout the region.
A gift that goes twice as far
The grant also helps advance LCSNW’s ongoing $1 million matching gift initiative, announced in May 2026. Because qualifying donations are currently being matched dollar for dollar, the impact of the Trust’s investment is effectively doubled.
“We are ecstatic about the Murdock grant because this already substantial gift is going to be doubled from $400,000 to $800,000,” said Sharon Gentry, District Director for LCSNW Tri-Cities. “We’re beyond grateful and are already seeing the benefits of bringing our services in Kennewick together under one roof.”
The matching initiative continues to provide community members, businesses, and philanthropic partners with an opportunity to multiply the impact of their support and help expand access to critical services for local youth.
LCSNW is deeply grateful to the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust for its partnership and commitment to supporting spaces where young people can find support, families can find hope, and our community can continue working toward healthier futures for all.
