Celebrating a decade of compassion, comfort, and “paws-itive” impact

Feb 26, 2026

On February 11th, staff gathered to celebrate a very special member of our LCSNW team — Walker, our beloved Courthouse Facility Dog, who officially turned 10 years old!

For the past decade, Walker has faithfully served alongside our staff, offering calm, comfort, and quiet reassurance to children, families, and individuals navigating some of life’s most difficult and vulnerable moments. His presence has helped create a sense of safety and trust in spaces that can otherwise feel overwhelming. Whether sitting beside a client during a difficult conversation or simply offering a gentle nudge of encouragement, Walker has made an immeasurable difference. His impact cannot be measured in years alone, but in every tail wag, every moment of calm, and every life he has helped steady along the way.

To celebrate this milestone, staff took time to paws and honor Walker with a birthday gathering filled with well-deserved puppy play, affection, and appreciation. The day was filled with smiles as Walker enjoyed time with staff members who have come to know and love him not just as a working dog, but as a trusted colleague and friend.

The celebration also included Bess, our newest Courthouse Facility Dog, and fellow service pup, Ginny (who was marking her own 7th birthday), at Shriner’s Hospital. Their puppy partnership and shared purpose is a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful support comes without words, just a steady presence and a caring heart.

Happy 10th birthday, Walker! Thank you for being such an important part of our team and for showing us, every day, the true meaning of unconditional support.
