Gift program for isolated seniors now serves three states; Santa’s workshop grows
This past holiday season, the LCSNW Santa for Seniors team expanded into 17 counties throughout the Pacific Northwest and started our national expansion with Minnesota partners.
The team delivered more than 8,800 holiday gifts in Washington, 650 in Oregon, and 1,000 in Minnesota. One of the highlights was establishing a Santa for Seniors outpost in Astoria, Oregon, a coastal community that LCSNW had previously served with other programs.
Thank you to all who supported Santa for Seniors through donation drives, assembling gifts, and lovely handmade ornaments and cards for the gift bags! We look forward to reaching additional seniors as we continue to expand our efforts in 2024.
The Santa for Seniors team is also excited to be back in their newly renovated warehouse located near the Tacoma Mall. For the past six months, the team had been working out of a temporary space in the Northeast Tacoma neighborhood of Browns Point, but they are happy to have more space in Santa’s new workshop. With the new elevator lift, the retrofitted loft, and more racks for storing holiday gift bags, they will be able to reach even more seniors as they continue to expand their efforts in 2024.
Thanks to the William A. Looney Family Foundation for helping to make this possible!
