Violence and political persecution have driven a record number of migrant families to seek asylum in the United States. Seattle is one of 11 Immigration Court cities expediting these claims through a dedicated docket. A lack of understanding the judicial system and no legal representation are two major hurdles asylum seekers face. Our Legal Education and Advocacy Program team is attempting to level the playing field for them.
