CEO responds to reckless attack on LCSNW, other Lutheran organizations
A message from our CEO:
Over the weekend, Elon Musk shared a tweet attacking LCSNW and other Lutheran ministries. At first, I hoped it wasn’t real. But it was all too real — a reckless misrepresentation of organizations dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in our communities.
For more than a century, LCSNW has provided food, housing, crisis support, mental health care, and advocacy for survivors of violence. Yes, we receive government funding — because we are trusted partners in this work. The government contracts with us because we are good stewards of resources, delivering essential services with efficiency, accountability, and compassion.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and transparency. Our financial practices are audited regularly by independent third parties, and we are fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
To those standing with us — thank you. A special appreciation to our Lutheran church partners, including Bishops Shelley Bryan Wee, Laurie Larson Caesar, Meggan Manlove, and Richard Jaech, for their unwavering support and fierce advocacy.
No amount of misinformation will deter us from our mission. We will continue to serve with compassion, integrity, and hope — because that is what we have always done, and what we will always do. More information to come.
