LCSNW Tri-Cities celebrates new chapter with ribbon cutting, open house

The event was the culmination of extensive renovations that began in the fall of 2025. After nearly three years searching for a centrally located, accessible space to expand services, LCSNW selected the former Amazon call center located at 7011 W Canal Drive. With roughly 38,000 square feet, the facility allowed LCSNW to consolidate operations from its two previous, dated Kennewick offices into a modern, trauma-informed space designed to better support staff and community needs.

“We’ve been serving this community for decades, but there was greater need than what we could provide in our current location,” said LCSNW CEO David Duea.

For over 60 years, LCSNW has provided mental and behavioral health services to youth across Benton and Franklin Counties. The new office allows the nonprofit to serve more youth and families, reduce wait times, bring teams together that were previously spread across multiple buildings, and increase capacity to serve future generations.

Also giving opening remarks was Austin Regimbal, Vice President of the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce. A proclamation was read by Kennewick City Council member Jim Millbauer, declaring Lutheran Community Services Northwest as the Kennewick Business of the Day.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting, which used a green ribbon to signify the agency’s mental health services, officially marked the building’s opening. Guests were given staff-led tours to explore the enhanced space and learn more about available services.

The facility’s completion is a reflection of the many community partners who share a commitment to LCSNW’s mission of health, justice and hope. Agency leaders expressed their gratitude to local schools, medical professionals, behavioral health providers, and the countless individuals who refer youth for services. Because anyone can make a referral, community members play a vital role in connecting those in need with support and resources.

Special thanks were given to MH Construction for its dedication and expertise in bringing the Canal Drive facility to life, and to Numerica Credit Union, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Northwest Intermountain Synod for helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for staff, clients, and families.

Following the public Open House, clients and families who receive services from LCSNW enjoyed a special celebration in the new building.

Additionally, local community partner Chick-fil-A, LCSNW’s neighbor on Canal Drive, donated refreshments for both the public Open House and the evening family celebration.

While the ribbon cutting marked the opening of a new building, the true impact will be measured by the lives changed inside LCSNW’s walls for years to come.
