ARTvocacy: A World Refugee Day Celebration
June 20, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Seattle art exhibit to honor World Refugee Day
Join us as we celebrate World Refugee Day through art created by local refugees.
This special exhibition includes work by artists originally from Vietnam, Ukraine, Bosnia, Eritrea, Bhutan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, and more. All participating artists fled violence and persecution in their home countries, experiencing difficult journeys before coming to the United States.
ARTvocacy is a family-friendly celebration with art, music, and refreshments. In conjunction with this event, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will host a naturalization ceremony for new American citizens.
ARTvocacy is presented by Lutheran Community Services Northwest, International Rescue Committee (IRC), and Jewish Family Service (JFS)–three nonprofit organizations supporting refugee families rebuilding their lives in the Pacific Northwest. This event is free and open to the public.
