Bellingham Santa for Seniors

Bringing holiday cheer to Bellingham seniors

We are excited to share that Santa for Seniors is now spreading holiday joy in Bellingham and throughout Whatcom, Skagit, and Island Counties! In 2024, thanks to the dedication of our incredible volunteers, we assembled 150 fall emergency kits to support isolated seniors and packed more than 400 festive holiday gift bags – each one filled with care, connection, and a reminder that our community remembers and values its older adults. In the spring of 2025, we distributed 450 giftbags.

As we look ahead, we hope to grow and expand our reach each year, delivering even more moments of joy to seniors in Bellingham and beyond. For 2025, we are on track to distribute over 1,300 fall safety kits and 1,500 holiday giftbags. We are currently putting together Valentine’s Day cards and will be expanding our spring giftbag distribution in 2026.

With your support, we can continue to brighten lives, one gift at a time.

The 2020 pandemic exposed the negative impact isolation can have on people of all ages. One-fourth of seniors are similarly isolated on a regular basis while nearly half of our Northwest seniors report chronic loneliness. Many seniors lack the resources to stay active in their communities. The loneliness is devastating and physically, emotionally, and mentally taxing. Seniors in our community need our support more than ever. We provide gifts throughout the year, building a bridge to the services and connection our seniors need, but we need your help!
