School Based Mental Health

LCSNW Tri-Cities partners with schools across Benton and Franklin Counties to support school based mental health (SBMH) services for students. Through this collaboration we contract with Richland School District to support the expansion of access to mental health services for students in Richland schools. We have placed mental health clinicians at Richland High School and Hanford High School, along with a dedicated Case Manager to support students who need mental health care in the district.
The SBMH program is designed to create a supportive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By addressing mental health needs on-site, these programs help to break down barriers to care, reduce stigma, and ensure that students have the tools and resources they need to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.
Key Components of School Based Mental Health:
- Individual Counseling and Therapy
- Group Counseling and Support
- Crisis Intervention
- Workshops and Trainings
- Collaboration with Teachers and Parents
- Referral and Case Management Services
