Senior Media Services – Senior Scene Newspaper and Where to Turn Guide

Thank You, and Farewell to Senior Media Services

After more than 30 years of informing and connecting older adults, Senior Media Services — the team behind Senior Scene and Where to Turn — has officially closed as of June 30, 2025.

Since 1992, Senior Scene has reached nearly 26,000 readers each month across Pierce and King counties with news, features, and resources for older adults and their families. Our annual Where to Turn directory has been a trusted guide for nearly 100,000 people each year, helping older adults and caregivers navigate vital community services in Pierce, King, and Kitsap counties.

We are proud to have provided free, accessible information that supported healthy, connected, and meaningful lives for older adults. This work wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated readers, advertisers, community partners, and volunteers — all of whom enabled us to provide these resources at 700-plus distribution sites.

While this chapter has come to a close, we are excited that Pat Jenkins, whose leadership has been central to Senior Media Services, is stepping into a new role as Senior Friends Program Coordinator in our Tacoma office. We also send our best wishes and gratitude to Sherrie Kenyon, Senior Media Services Advertising Representative, who is retiring after years of dedicated service.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this meaningful journey.
