BACK TO SCHOOL FAIRS START KIDS OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT

Back to school time can be a financial hardship for some families. Children need school supplies, immunizations and health care, new clothes and more. Addressing these needs is what inspired our Family Support Centers to partner with their communities to hold Back to School Fairs.

August 1, 5-8 pm: Everett Family Support Center/Familias Unidas
Backpacks and school supplies will be handed out to kids as part of National Night Out event at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 215 W Mukilteo BLVD in Everett. The event also serves as a health and safety fair with free food, games and entertainment for families and children.

August 17, 10am-2pm: Angle Lake Family Resource Center
Will be held at Valley Ridge Park, 4644 S 188th St in SeaTac. This fair will include backpacks and school supplies, 40 different resource tables, Back to School haircuts, dental checks and free lunch. Open to SeaTac residents and families whose children attend schools in the SeaTac catchment area.

August 19, 10am-1pm: Parent Line/Port Angeles Family Support Center
Will be held at Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E 12th St in Port Angeles. This event serves families in need within the Port Angeles School District. Includes school supplies, haircuts, crafts, lunch and an opportunity to connect with 45 partner agencies for school readiness.

August 24, 2-5 pm: Granite Falls Family Support Center
Event will be located at Granite Falls Family Support Center, 200 Portage Ave in Granite Falls. Open to families with children in Granite Falls School District. Backpacks, school supplies and other school readiness resources will be available.

August 26, 10am-2pm: Lake Stevens Family Support Center
Location will be Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club, 1609 E Lake Shore Dr in Lake Stevens. Open to families with children in Lake Stevens School District. Backpacks, school supplies, health information, and other school readiness resources will be available.

Donations
Every dollar you donate to the Back to School fairs goes directly towards backpacks, tablets, markers, pencils, glue, rulers, band aids and the list goes on. Any of these items can be donated directly to each individual family support center in your community. To make a financial contribution, please visit our online donation page, select the Family Support Center you’d like to donate to, and within the Comments, designate your gift to the Back to School Resource Fair.

Volunteer
Interested in supporting families by directly serving at the Back to School Resource Fair? See the magic of family support first hand by helping prepare backpacks, facilitate registration, and disperse backpacks and supplies to children in your community.
