Join us for one of the best organized rides in Eastern Washington! 8 Lakes Bike Ride explores the beautiful scenery surrounding Spokane, West Plains, Medical Lake and Cheney. Routes are clearly marked and include food stops, medical and mechanical support.

Proceeds benefit the programs of Lutheran Community Services Northwest. For more than 60 years, LCS Northwest has been offering hope, resources, and healing to thousands of Spokane-area citizens affected by violent crimes and other traumatic, life-altering events.

12:00 noon: Pledge Rider Awards Ceremony & Raffle Drawing
We’re raffling off a 2019 SPECIALIZED Roubaix (Value $1900) donated by Wheel Sport. Winner selects size and men’s/women’s. The drawing will be held during 8 Lakes Bike Ride finish line activities. Need not be present to win.
8 Lakes Policy for Event Contingencies Due to Poor Air Quality: Decision about proceeding will be based on Air Quality Index reported the morning of the event on the Air Now website.
A few climbing hills with a food/rest stop at the Cheney Trailhead. Coming back, riders enjoy a 4-mile paved off-road trail from Cheney to Fish Lake on the Fish Lake Trail.
A few climbing hills with a food/rest stop in Medical Lake and at the Cheney Trailhead. Riders pass Willow, Granite (look for the turtles), Silver, Medical, Clear and Fish Lakes.
The same route as the 45-mile riders until Cheney, then the route heads toward Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge. There are several rolling hills once you turn toward Chapman and Kepple Lakes. There are food/rest stops at Turnbull, Chapman Lake and the Cheney Trailhead.
RIDE SUPPORT: SAG support volunteers, medical support and ARES/HAM Radio are provided on each route. Routes are marked on the roadway and traffic control is provided for major intersections.
HELMETS REQUIRED: Riders must follow WA State Bicycle Laws. When riding on a roadway, a cyclist has all the rights and responsibilities of a vehicle driver (RCW 46.61.755). Cyclists who violate traffic laws may be ticketed (RCW 46.61.750).
Riders are responsible for the mechanical condition of their bicycle. It is advised that each rider carry a spare tube, patch kit and bike pump. All riders are required to sign a release and to wear an ANSI approved bike helmet while riding.

Our goal is to raise $80,000 to benefit the vital programs of LCS Northwest, including the Sexual Assault & Family Trauma (SAFeT) Response Center. Proceeds from the bike ride help us to continue delivering the highest quality of service to our community, while not only providing ongoing support, but also creating new opportunities of hope to those in our community who turn to our agency in their time of need.
