Victim Advocacy and Education

 We provide free and confidential advocacy services to victims, survivors, loved ones, and witnesses of traumatic events. Importantly, we offer these services regardless of whether or not the incident was reported to law enforcement or is currently being prosecuted. Our victim advocacy offers vital support, information, referrals to resources, and comprehensive wrap-around support, empowering individuals to make informed decisions.

Our goal is to help both adults and children affected by trauma regain their personal power. Please call us any time. We are here to answer your questions and support you.

Our team can support you in making informed decisions regarding medical care related to trauma. Under Washington law, survivors of sexual assault have the right to have an advocate or support person present during medical and legal proceedings.

Legal Advocacy

We offer information and support throughout both civil and criminal systems. Our services include assistance with protection orders and coordination between law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office. Furthermore, we provide in-person support throughout various processes, including detective interviews, defense interviews, trials, and sentencing hearings.

Support Groups

We offer psycho-educational support groups that serve as effective tools for fostering hope and providing support, validation, connection, healing, and empathy. At the core of sexual assault trauma is disempowerment and disconnection. Our groups can assist in crucial recovery factors, including empowerment and connection. Community Education

We provide training for professionals, organizations, and groups interested in learning more about our services and the effects of trauma. Please reach out to us for more information or to request a training session.

Volunteer

We need dedicated Crisis Response Advocate volunteers!
Volunteers play a vital role in the success of our advocacy programs, making it possible to staff our Sexual Assault Crisis Line 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Spokane office. As a Crisis Response Advocate, you will provide phone assistance and accompany victims of sexual assault and other crimes during exams at Spokane-area hospitals. You will also offer crisis intervention, support, referrals, and information to survivors of sexual assault and other crimes, along with their families and loved ones. Victim Advocacy services are confidential and protected by privileged communication. Due to Washington law, we are still mandated reporters. If you provide identifying information such as name or phone number and disclose concerns of abuse and neglect involving a minor child or vulnerable adult we will make a report.
