Our Impact
Child Welfare
Keeping kids safe, supported and loved
We believe all children deserve homes where they feel safe and loved. That’s why we work to ensure that neglected, abused, parentless and other at-risk children are surrounded by strong and loving families.
Foster a refugee teen
There are children unaccompanied by an adult waiting in refugee camps overseas and in shelters in the US who are in need of safe and stable homes. We recruit, train and support foster parents to care for these refugee youth who have fled war, persecution and violence. We support the kids and their foster families to ensure they heal from their past traumas, graduate from high school, get skills training and jobs, and become contributing members of our communities. Our Spokane and North Puget Sound offices manage refugee foster care programs.
Wraparound Programs
We partner with families and communities to provide intensive support to families at risk of having a troubled child removed from the home. This strengths-based, family-centered approach is highly successful at keeping these kids safe in their homes and communities. Intensive family stabilization programs are available through our Tri-Cities, Spokane and Klamath Falls offices.
Relief Nurseries
We partner with courageous parents and caregivers who are building on their strengths to overcome life’s most difficult challenges and create a brighter future for their children. We offer free personal and parenting support, community resource connections, therapeutic preschool, parenting workshops, food, diapers, and children’s clothing for expecting parents and high-stress families with kids ages 0-5. Available through our Yamhill County and Klamath Falls offices.
Safe Families
This volunteer-led movement provides support for families with children while they address a temporary crisis. Services range from a simple ride across town or help with an errand, to a safe home for children to stay in for a few hours or weeks at a time. Available through our Boise and Yamhill County offices.
Adoption-related services
LCSNW no longer provides adoption services nor maintains records of adoptions. However, we appreciate that these records are necessary to help reunite families separated by adoption. If you are seeking records from one of our precursor Lutheran agencies, please go to this webpage for guidance.
