North Puget Sound District Relocates Seattle Office to University District

After weeks of planning, organizing and packing, LCS Northwest’s North Puget Sound (NPS) District moved its Seattle office from Northgate to the University of Washington business district in May.

“We were at the Northgate location for about 10 years,” NPS District Director Jay Kang explained. “The neighborhood is going through some big redevelopment and remaining there was no longer affordable for us.”

The Foster Care team gathers in their new office space in the University District Building.

The new office is housed in the University District Building (UDB), situated on the corner of NE 45th Street and 11th Avenue NE, in the heart of the business district. It is a 24-hour controlled access facility and NPS has installed keypad access to its space in the UDB’s main lobby and parking garage.

The UDB is home to the NPS administrative staff and Refugees Northwest foster care team. It will also house a future Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe) team. A reservable office is available to Shared Services staff and others who need to conduct business at NPS. A conference room (25 person capacity) is also available for use and can be reserved.

The office is walking distance to retail, restaurants and the UW campus. It is also an easy walk to a new Link Light Rail station slated to open in October. That’s a good thing because parking for LCS Northwest is limited to seven parking spaces and NPS staff have priority access to four of them.

“Making this move took weeks of upfront planning, organizing and packing. We are grateful to our Administrative Services Coordinator Inessa Kozlova for keeping us organized and operating smoothly during this transition,” Jay acknowledged. “I hope we’re here for another 10 years.”
