FAQ

Can I host friends and family at home to watch the event? Yes! Hosting a house party is a fun and easy way to support local immigrant families. A virtual table host is a key volunteer who invites friends, colleagues or family members to gather to learn about supporting Yamhill County’s most vulnerable immigrant families.

Just make sure to pre-register yourself, test your own audio/visual system prior to your gathering and remind your guests to individually pre-register.

As previously stated, there is no cost to attend this virtual event, so please share this link with your friends and family–whether they’re living just around the corner or in Timbuktu.

What is ICAP & Fiesta en la Viña?

Each year, we host our FIESTA event to raise funds for our Immigration Counseling and Advocacy Program (ICAP). ICAP provides affordable services to local immigrants, allowing eligible individuals and families to adjust their immigration status and seek United States citizenship. We assist individuals and families in understanding their rights and immigration options through consultations, legal representation and case management throughout their entire immigration or naturalization process.

The success of the event and the future of our ICAP program depends upon the financial contributions of event sponsors and attendees!

This year’s hybrid event will have 100 VIP seats in the “studio audience,” while countless more will log in online to participate in the paddle raise and silent and live auction portions of the evening.

Will there still be an “ask” at this event? Funds raised at FIESTA provide critical support for essential ICAP services. While FIESTA is free to attend virtually, it is our hope that every guest will want to give our community’s most vulnerable immigrant families the support and stability they deserve during this time of increased need.

The FIESTA program is designed to inspire. During the main program, there will be a request for guests to make a meaningful gift to support immigrant families. Every dollar makes a difference, and each gift is gratefully received.

We hope that you will give at a level that is comfortable for you and encourage your guests to do the same. We recommend Table Hosts let their guests know ahead of time about the “ask.” To help your guests determine their giving level, you may choose to inspire them by sharing your giving level.

Who do I talk to if my business would like to donate to the event?

Please visit our event website to learn more about donating items or sponsoring the event. WWW.YAMHILLFIESTA.ORG.

What is the best way to invite guests to join me at my table?

A phone call is usually the easiest and best way to invite your guests. Share how important support of our immigrant community is to you – make it personal! If you are passionate about supporting our immigrant friends and neighbors, your friends will be too! Let them know they will learn more about LCSNW’s Immigration program and will be given an opportunity to support our work. When they say yes, follow up immediately by sending them THIS registration link.

What if a guest cannot attend the virtual gala but would like to make a donation to FIESTA (ICAP)?

Thank your invitees for their support and direct them to our online donation page. If your invitees prefer to mail a donation, simply suggest that they:

  • Make the check payable to “Lutheran Community Services Northwest.”
  • Write “FIESTA 2022” in the check memo.
  • Mail it to 435 NE Evans Street, Suite A, McMinnville Or, 97128.
